Prodigiously talented Sutton violinist-vocalist Rebecca Kelly performs on the main stage in The Parade on Saturday July 12 from 3.15pm to 3.45pm.

Rebecca turned to the jazz-swing of Stephane Grappelli having first played in a variety of classical groups including the Birmingham Schools Symphony Orchestra and the Bravura string orchestra.

She also featured as a jazz soloist with Birmingham Schools Guitar Ensemble, and her classical and jazz talents have taken her to venues such as Symphony Hall and the Queen Elizabeth and Festival Halls in London.

The former King Edward’s Handsworth pupil refined her improvisational skills by listening to jazz and practising at home, having studied with renowned local tutor Heather Clemson.

Rebecca once won Jazz FM’s regional Search For A Star competition, and has become a firm favourite playing at restaurants and bigger venues across the Midlands and beyond.
