Matt Tyler will headline a special Songwriters’ Cafe day in the cafe at Woolworths in The Parade on Saturday July 12 as part of the Festival.
Sutton-born Matt, now based in Great Barr, is influenced by the styles of Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles, David Gray, KT Tunstall, Damien Rice, REM, Bob Dylan, Travis and Oasis.
He performs a blend of acoustic rock and folk, and plays guitar, harmonica, ukulele and bouzouki.
Matt records, writes and produces on his own label Dannyboy Records and has a worldwide digital distribution deal with Orchard Music of New York. His music is available on iTunes, eMusic, Napster and Amazon as well as his own website and eBay. Downloads have now passed the 40,000 mark.
He has gigged relentlessly around the country for more than six years in pubs, clubs, restaurants, cafes and theatres, playing over 500 shows. Venues include Birmingham Rep, Crescent Theatre, the mac, Custard Factory, Birmingham Library Theatre, The Old Rep, The Cavern (Liverpool) and The Hard Rock Cafe (Birmingham).
