This four-piece “dark rock” band, formed by ex-Plantsbrook and Bishop Walsh pupils, rounds off a top day of live music on The Parade on Saturday July 12, between 4pm and 4.30pm.

They studied at The Birmingham Music Academy for two years and then The London Academy of Music for a year, learning about the music business.

The lads have played numerous gigs around The Midlands and London honing their performance and songwriting skills and during this time, all received a coveted music award (ADP Band Of The Year) at a BAFTA Ceremony in London from the legendary “fifth Beatle” George Martin and Radio 1 presenter Edith Bowman.

Their stage set consists of all original songs, boasting strong lyrics and powerful harmonies. Jackpike have played in many different venues including the NEC, The Glee Club, Birmingham Bar Academy, Carling Academy 2, Flapper And Firkin, Actress And Bishop, Scruffy Murphy’s, Springstock festival, The Royal, Irish Centre, Market Tavern (Birmingham), Hope And Anchor, The Dublin Castle, The Water Rats, Underworld, The Barfly (Birmingham And London), De Montfort Hall (Leicester)… and the list goes on.

The group now features Dom Lawson (vocals, guitar), Ben Jones (guitar), Sam Neville (bass) and Tom Fisher (drums/vocals).
