Blister + Voiceshop + Black Comedy

Stuart Jones and Martin ‘Sniper’ Rowberry regularly take part in funky keyboard ‘duels’ that are causing quite a stir on the web - and locals will get to see them perform live as part of the Sutton Festival Of Arts.

The pair’s performances, under the collective name Blister, have had two million hits to date on popular website YouTube, meaning they are now bagging special duelling concerts around the globe in places like France, Spain and the US as well as various locations around England.

They will appear at Fairfax School on Saturday July 12 from 7.30pm, on a bill that also includes a performance by a cappella sextet Voiceshop (pictured), who are coached by Stuart’s vocal tutor wife Sarah, and a rendition, by Fairfax Year 12 drama students, of Peter Shaffer’s Black Comedy.

A short 1965 piece by the English dramatist, Black Comedy takes a hilarious look at the antics of a group of characters feeling their way around a pitch-black room — although the stage is, of course, actually flooded with light.

Visit www.youtube.com/blistermusic to see Blister in action.

Admission to the varied evening is free.

Stuart also presents his debut musical Shirt & Tie at Sutton Town Hall on Sunday July 13. Visit www.suttoncoldfieldtownhall.co.uk or call 0121 464 8990 for tickets.
